Thankful
One of the things that sets us apart as children of God is thankfulness!
The Apostle Paul wrote a lot about thankfulness:
- Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
- Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)
- Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2)
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)
Today we encourage you: take a few moments and express your thankfulness to God, specifically, for who He is and all He’s done! Be specific! Set your gaze on His face! Lock your eyes onto His and express your thankfulness!
Then, take a moment to express your thankfulness to someone around you. Again, be specific! Whether it’s family member, neighbor, co-worker or friend, take a few moments to express your thankfulness aloud.
Thankfulness expressed stirs our hearts and increases our faith and joy!
So take time today to not only be thankful, but express it aloud!
You and those around you will be glad you did!
