Self-Reliance

Self-reliance.
It can sound good. It can even sound noble!
I don’t need help. I can do it myself.
I’ll just work harder, get up earlier, stay up later.
I’ll prove I can do it.

But Jesus came to do what we couldn’t.
Not because we didn’t want to or hadn’t tried.
History is full of people who tried to do life on their own. Who tried to connect with God without Him. Sound familiar?
But no amount of trying harder, doing better or being better could put us back in right relationship with our Father.

That’s why Jesus came!
Jesus. God with us. Emmanuel.
God. Who came to earth, as a human.
Like us. To be with us.
To make the way where there was no way.
Not to make a way. But the way.
Jesus. Emmanuel. God with us. Opened the way.
Because He is the way.
To restored relationship. To oneness with our Father. To peace. And hope. And love. And joy.
To everything we had, but gave up.
To everything we desired, but didn’t realize.
To everything we needed, but didn’t know we had access to.
Yes, Jesus did it. He did it all!
There’s not one more thing you need to do. Not one more thing you can do.
He paid it all! For you!
For you to be in constant contact, constant relationship with your Father.
With God, Himself.
Yes, Jesus paid it all.
It’s all available. To you!
All you have to do is say yes.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with Me. To know Me is to know My Father too.” John 14:6 TPT
